Meetings and Trade Show Department
Ed Slintak joined the NMRA in 1981. His first exposure to model trains was a Marx S-scale set as a youngster. Fast forward to looking for a hobby post college and he joined the East Bay Model Engineers Society in 1980 , where he is still an active member, and has served in various capacities, including President. Ed is currently serving as the General Manager of the Golden State Model Railroad Museum in Richmond, CA. Ed worked on several regional conventions through the years including being part of the local committee for national conventions X2011W in Sacramento and Rails by the Bay (2021). He joined the NMRA Meetings and Trade Show department in 2004 as Facilities Manager.
Ed is a civil engineer working at a consulting firm concentrating on public works projects. Ed has been married to his wife Elaine for over 40 years with one adult son. His favorite railroads are the D&RGW and Western Pacific, which he models in HO. He is very active in the operations community.
